Tina Malone is a seasoned teacher with years of classroom experience in prestigious schools such as Greenhill School, Good Shepherd Episcopal School, and Highland Park Middle School. Her passion for building one-on-one connections with students and providing individualized learning approaches led her to leave the classroom to pursue a tutoring career.
Tina has spent her professional life engaging the Spanish language in various ways. A licensed K-12 Spanish teacher, Tina spent seven years as a classroom teacher. She has experience in the pedagogy of immersion, ACTFL proficiency development, and use of authentic resources. Tina has been tutoring students in Spanish language since 2004, a calling which began as she was earning her Bachelors of Arts in Spanish Language and Sociology at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Tina has studied Spanish at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain, and in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Her love of teaching followed her when abroad, during which time she was a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) intern at the school Instituto de Bachillerato and the vocational school Fonda Vera Cruz. Tina has also served as a ESL (English as a second language) tutor, a Spanish translator, and a Hispanic Services Provider for a homeless day center through AmeriCorps.
During her time as a student and a teacher, Tina has become increasingly aware of the need for effective tools of organization and study. More to come!
